Sony definitely didn't miss a chance to promote their products through product placements on the trailer for the upcoming fifth installment of Resident Evil. At first, it was one of those ads that get featured before they show you the actual video. Turns out it wasn't an ad and it was part of the actual trailer. The trailer featured Sony products such as the Sony smartphone, a playstation Vita, and a tablet before transitioning into a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C.
Resident Evil: Retribution is scheduled for release in September of 2012 but one thing is missing from the promo poster and trailer. The zombies. I do hope there will be more zombies, especially since the movie will be in 3D.
Another part of the promo is the website for Umbrella Corporation. The site gives you language options, complete with an About Us section, a widget that displays twitter feeds and an employee orientation video even pops up telling you about the Umbrella, what they do, and why you should join the company. If you've been living under a rock and you are not familiar with Resident Evil, you might actually think the website is for an actual legit company. That is until Alice hacks into the website in the middle of the video and tells you not to trust Umbrella. Don't believe Umbrella. They're lying. Don't trust them. Apparently they will have a recruiting tour which will kick off this April starting from Mexico, then moving to France, Spain, Poland, Italy, US and Japan.
So, would you leave your job and join Umbrella? Get recruited here.
