What is Ultraviolet?

It used to be that when you bought a DVD movie, your only choice was to watch it on a DVD compatible player. But now, you've got a lot of viewing choices and that's because of Ultraviolet, an online library built and operated by an alliance of leading entertainment companies, retailers, cable and satellite TV providers and electronics manufacturers.

Ultraviolet works by storing digital proofs of purchase for every Ultraviolet TV or movie show you buy.  This allows ultraviolet retailers and streaming providers to deliver your titles to the types of devices and apps you want to use. As long as your purchase has the Ultraviolet logo, it will be free to add it to your Ultraviolet library. When you shop online, just add it as part of your check-out. And for Blu-ray discs or DVDs, simply follow the in-package instructions and you're ready to go.

With Ultraviolet, how you watch will be your choice. You can stream you movies and tv shows wherever you have an internet connection or you can download any title in your library for off-line viewing. You can even make a disc copy for added flexibility. Up to 5 other members of your household can build and enjoy your ultraviolet library, can shop where you want, and watch where you choose. Each family member can have customized views so they see only the titles they want. Parental control features limits the titles that kids can watch.

Everything sounds good here except the name.
